How To Price My Quilts?

My quilts are all handcut and machine sewed. Each one takes about 1-3 weeks to make dependeing on the size. I want to know how much to price crib sized quilts for, twin sized quilts for, and queen sized quilts for. Crib quilts cost around $20 to make. Twin- $35 Queen- $50. I have heard of queen quilts going for over $1,000! I personally think that is jacked up for a single quilt! Maybe for like a king sized with tons of quares but i don't know. I've also heard of the 3x what you paid to make it guidline. I think this one is reasonable but I would like some opinions on this. What do you think is reasonable? How much should I sell each size for?

P.S. Most of my quilts will be sold for charity.

You should price them at 3 times what you paid for the 'contents' ... no matter how 'long' it takes you to make them. That is the 'rule of thumb' when selling ANY 'craft item' ... if you do your OWN designs and they are unusual enough to call art, you may price as much as 6 times the value of the 'contents' (fabric, stuffing, thread) but NEVER more than that if they are machine stitched. You can charge up to 10 times the cost if you hand stitch them ... but the hand stitching can that ten times as long, so you'll actually be 'making less' ... sad but true.
