Thread Count Sateen

Looking for cold bed sheets?

My mom is going to get my husband and I some sheets for Christmas. I have been doing tons of research on bed sheets. I understand about the thread count, the weave, and all of that, but I still do not know which type of sheets are coldest to the touch. Can someone tell me if Sateen is the way to go, or Egyptian Cotton. I appreciate your input.

what makes sheets soft?

i just bought sheets........they are 100% pima cotton....sateen....540 thread count. i washed them once and they just feel kinda rough and a little scratchy.......is it because it requires more washes to get broke in?

im bummed out because i thought due to the high thread count, theyd be softer.

please help
i used fabric softener

Wash again then put some fabric softener in with the final rinse.
