Drag queen makeup is such an exotic style; it is really an artistic exaggeration of the female face. I find when learning to apply makeup fashion well it helps to look closely at drag queen makeup to see where to contour the face, how to apply eye colours and make the most of the lips. With this type of makeup look there is never too much going on, never too much to look at; everything catches your eye. And although the whole face is quite spectacular, the eyes are truly the most fantastically enhanced feature.

Here is how to do a well made up drag queen eye makeup. Clearly this is not a look for the everyday woman, but you can adapt some of the techniques to improve and enhance your own beauty in a way that you are comfortable.

To help with the drag eye makeup fashion, put two pieces of tape at the temple. This should pull back the skin slightly and create a very smooth canvas for the eye makeup.

When it comes to the eyes, you'll need to make as much space as possible between the brow and the lash line. In order to do this you'll need to reposition the brows, especially as they will be highly arched. Cover the brow hairs with a little sculpting wax so that the hairs lie down flat and most of the colour is muted. The wax also serves as a base for the foundation or concealer (depending on the thickness and darkness of brow hairs) that should be stippled carefully over it. Apply some fixing powder over the brows to set the foundation. Draw new brows in over the natural brow shape. Use a brow stencil and fill in with a dark pencil and powder so that the result is perfect.

Apply concealer all over the eyelids and under the eyes as usual.

Now that the eye space to work with has been widened, you should draw in an artificial crease line so that you would know where to put the other colours. Mark this right above the natural crease with a contour colour that you would normally use otherwise on the face.

Under the new brows, use a frosty lightly coloured eyeshadow as a highlight. This would reflect the light well and also minimise any shadowing from the natural brow that was covered.

Smudge black shadow along the lash line and extend it upwards and outwards past the outer corner of the eye. Trace the same colour along the new crease as well and connect the two lines in a v shape at the outer edge of the eye. This can be a thick line as you would then blend it inwards so that it becomes a smoky eye with a defined outline. Repeat the smudging along the entire lower lash line too.

Both the lower and upper lashes were darkened to intensify the look. To do this, apply two coats of black mascara to the lashes during makeup fashion.

With smoldering creamy black eyeliner, line the waterline and the inner upper lash line so that the look is very defined and dramatic.

At the inner corners use a shiny gold or silver to open up the eyes. Blend in with the dark shadow.

Use an iridescent shade and place on the middle of the eyelid and right under the arch of the brow.

In the space in between the colours under the brow and the crease, apply a dash of colour and blend well into the surrounding areas.

To complete the eye colours, apply some sparkles or glitter to the middle of the eyelid.

Round off the entire look with very dramatic lashes to both the top and bottom lashes. This looks best with false lashes that are tapered to the outer edges.

These eyes take the phrase eye catching to a whole new level!
