Pillow Case Pillowcase
Would my pillowcase found in the garbage be fine if I washed it?
My dad threw away my pillow case today for no other reason then it "being old". I immediately went to the garbage can outback, ripped open the bag, salvaged the pillow case and put it in the washer and instead of normal wash, had it extra wash with plenty of detergent. Do you think it will be safe to use?
I even take it on vacation with me, I like it a lot and it is soft. It is only 2-3 years old.
It depends on what else was in the garbage, for example if any chemicals got on it that wouldn't wash out (like if it touched motor oil or paint). You should look carefully over the pillow case for stains and any odd smells that didn't wash out. If it only got mixed in with other laundry and maybe food, washing it should take care of that, but if you want to be extra sure wash it with some bleach next time (chlorine or non-chlorine, depending on what the label says). Be sure to let it dry completely before you use it again too.
