Learning to keep your pillows clean

People who use pillows will be surprised at the fact that nearly half of their pillow's weight contains allergens and dust mites. If you want your pillows to be free from allergens and mites, you must keep them clean.

Make sure you keep your pillows clean by washing the pillow case at least once a week. If you suffer from allergies and cleaning the case does not reduce your allergies, you can use two pillow cases instead of using a single pillow case. Most people don't clean their pillow case because they think that cleaning them could have an impact on their durability. Cleaning the pillows will not affect the durability of your pillows. Drying your pillows is not easy especially during winters. However, if you have a dryer at home, you can use it to dry your pillows. After using the dryer, you can dry the pillows in an area that is exposed to direct sunlight. When drying them, make sure you fluff them so they don't lose their shape. If you have foam pillows, don't dry them in the sum as it can damage your pillows. Dry them in an area that is hot and is not exposed to direct sunlight.

Avoid cleaning your feather and duvet pillows in washing machine as it could damage your pillows. You can hand wash these pillows by using a mild detergent. To clean the pillows you can soak and squeeze until all the feathers are clean. Rinse the pillows until you have removed all the water from the pillows. After washing them, you can dry them using a dry or dry them in hot sun to remove moisture from the pillows.
