Do Kids Respond Well To Talking Bed Linen?

Bed Linen, you can never have too much of it can you! Can you? Well maybe you can, but even if we do have far too much bundled into the back of the wardrobe, it definitely comes in handy to have a spare set on standby. Children's bed linen is especially important. Those unfortunate little accidents that happen during the night and involve us dragging ourselves out of bed at 4am to change the old bed linen into new bed linen prove that point straight away. And apart from that, getting the kids to bed in the first place is not always a straightforward task. But if the Thomas the Tank Engine pillow says that it's time to go to sleep, then by George those peepers better be closed!

Of course there is absolute no scientific evidence to suggest that kids respond well to talking pillowcases, and they could actually be horribly traumatised by it, so do choose your children's bed linen wisely. For example, Disney Princess = good Nightmare on Elm Street = bad . But what do we really want from our bed linen anyway? Durability certainly, and maybe the feeling of luxury is important too. While silk sheets might be the ideal choice, they're not very practical for fitting out the whole household. Using the right blend of high quality fibres, cotton and cotton-polyester blended bed linen offers a much more realistic prospect, especially for kids. Cotton bed linen provides the durability and softness that help children sleep right through the night.

Pillows and duvets are often one of the last things children see before they go to sleep at night, so it's little wonder that the SAW movies have yet to release their own range of children's duvet sets. Certainly medieval knights and pirates and Disney princesses are all popular with kids, but let's face it, who wouldn't want to sleep under an underwater mermaid scene or a mediaeval castle? I would, and I'm nearly 35, which does make me wonder why I still persist with that bland brown duvet set my parents bought me for Christmas two years ago. Oh how I miss the Star Wars bed linen of my youth. Every night I literally slept in the warm cosy environment of the Ewok village from Return of the Jedi. Han was there, and Chewie and Leia... Damn you adulthood!

There are all sorts of popular themed children’s duvet sets available these days, from Toy Story and Disney’s Cars, to Peppa Pig bed linen. Kids are spoilt for choice, which is good for them frankly, because they are likely to thank you for it by having an ‘accident’ at an inappropriate time when you have to get up early for work the next day. Bless their little socks!
