Alright, I'm no Martha Stewart. Why my tresses do not grow?

I have an orange tree that stay almost the same size as the day
I bought it (4 years ago) and it's not Miniature kind.
Also, an apple tree, a cherry tree and persimmon that somehow
grow but so slow and never produce anything at all.. not even flowers or else. They are 4 years old.
I love persimmon a lot and have a dream of picking ones from my own backyard, call me crazy but I even talked to my persimmon tree that I love her so much and she has to grow up fast for mommy.... still she doesn't really care
What should I do??
I did buy special kind of fertilizer, get the grass away from the root area, water it 3-4 times a week, bag it, talk , massage.. anything you name it... now I'm am convinced that I would never even can grow a beansprout. HELP PLEASE!!!!
I live in Elk Grove, which is Southern part (30 minutes away) from Sacramento (North California) I noticed that my neighbor trees seem to be fine, so the soil should be fine.. my guess?

Oakay - you don't say where you live - but if you're growing an orange tree outside, I'm assuming you're southerly.

I'm a northern gardener, so I'm just guessing on this part - but I think apple and cherry trees need winter to be happy.

Apples take a long time before they flower - 5 to 7 years, so it might be alright. The cherry trees, those - goodness, mine I planted as twigs 4 years ago, and they're HUGE - they grow FAST. if your cherry trees are no bigger, there's definitely something wrong.

One things that does jump out at me - you're watering TOO MUCH! Obviously, they're not absolutel drowning, because you don't say they're dying. But 3-4 times a week is hugely overkill.

My established trees I water maybe twice a month - if there's no rain. And water DEEPLY when you do. An open-ended hose turned on to a trickle, let it go for 20-30 minutes.

If you're watering frequently and shallowly, then you're only watering the top 6 to 12 inches of soil, and you're training the roots to stay near the surface - where the water is. They will then become MORE susceptible to drought conditions, and less able to access nutrients further down in the soil.

Without knowing more about your specifics (how much sun, where you live, etc), those are the only comments I can think of.

I have lots of fruit trees - and I hardly ever fertilize them, and they do fine.

I also want to emphazise - An established tree (in the ground for 18 months or more) should need NO supplemental water unless there is a drought, or you live in a dry area where trees don't normally grow.

Looking for a Martha Stewart cherry pie recipe with Rainier cherries?

I know this is a long shot, but I'm trying to find my favorite cherry pie recipe. I think it was from Martha Stewart Living, probably a summer issue (July/Independence Day?) from 2001-2003 or so.

It was a cherry pie recipe with a Pate Brisee lattice-top crust that featured Rainier cherries and used tapioca starch for a thickener.

If you have the magazine and wouldn't mind quickly typing up just the ingredients amounts for the filling and the baking time/temp, that would be fabulous. I can figure out the rest.

Or if you can find the recipe online (I couldn't), you would be my hero. Thanks so much!
No, it's not a sour cherry pie. It uses fresh Rainier cherries.
