Take the Whole Family and Rent a Vila in Florida

Traditionally, many people going to places like Florida for their holidays will stay in a hotel. This is great if you like to be waited on. However, it can be very expensive particularly if you want to take the whole family with you and even more so if you have a large family.

There is an alternative however - go self catering. This is great, and better done when you rent a villa.

You might think that renting a villa in say Orlando would set you back a pretty penny. In reality, renting is no more expensive than leasing a holiday cottage in the Lake District. But there is one big difference. For the price you pay for a relatively small, but comfortable cottage in the UK, you get far more for your money with a Florida villa.

For instance, for around £750 per week you can rent an 8 person villa in Kissimmee, Florida. Amenities include two spacious master bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms plus two twin rooms with TVs in all the bedrooms. Other amenities include internet, swimming pool and BBQ equipment.

For those with very large families, you can pay as little as £900 for an Orlando Vacation Rental that sleeps 12 For that you can get an elegantly furnished house with 6 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms and all the amenities you require to make your stay enjoyable.

Most people tend not to walk in Florida. However, many of the villas are situated near the beach and within easy reach of local shops, restaurants and other attractions. Some may even be easy reach of major facilities such as the Walt Disney World.

Organising Trips to Local Sights and Activities

Taking a large family away with you on holiday might is a great idea providing you all get along. But it must be borne in mind that once you rent a villa and share facilities, there will be a need to organise trips to see the local sights or visit the attractions.

Not everyone will want to do the same things on the same day. Consequently, it might be an idea to carry out a little research before going on holiday.

With that in mind, it is probably also a good idea to rent a villa with good amenities and which caters for all ages. Also, try to rent one which is close to the local sights and facilities, otherwise you might end up having to hire a car.

Finally, no more than 2 people should do the organising.

Money Saved and Sense of Community

The major reason for renting a villa in Florida is cost. As suggested above, renting one cheaper than renting one in the UK, the facilities and amenities are likely to be better and it is not as likely to rain everyday!

Eating out or buying food in is not expensive either, so you can enjoy a good meal together as family in the comfort of 'home' surroundings.

The only added cost is the flight to Orlando. But you can get cheap flights to Orlando from Manchester, London and many other UK airports.

where can I go on a family vacation in the US with twin 4yr olds in June?

This is our first family vacation and I would like to somwhere we can all enjoy. We prefer somewhere with beaches, pools and local attractions. Disney did pop into our minds but seems a bit pricey. We would like to spend a max od $1300 for hotel flight and car rental and if there is any attractions included even better? Please help! We would like to go mid to late June or early july.

How about New Hampshire? You can visit beaches, mountains and your twins would LOVE Storyland in northern NH. It is affordable, geared towards children 8 and younger and is very clean. The weather should be fabulous in New Hampshire in June and July. There are many attractions in the white mountains and it is just a few hours to fantastic beaches.
