Count Duvet Goose

Goose down comforter sheds too many feathers everywhere even with a duvet cover.. solution?

I bought a goose down comforter and a duvet cover, both at Macy's, both are top of the line quality products; my down comforter is shedding feathers like crazy and it goes through the duvet cover, which is both expensive and supposed to be of high thread count.. why is this happening and how can i prevent the feathers from coming out? I've heard of "fluffing" the comforter, what is this, how do i do it, and is this applicable to this situation?

Fluffing basically means just pushing the sides together so that the feathers get ruffled and it will make the comforter fluffy. I have a down duvet also and feathers every darn where! I bought a mattress cover and put inside of that and then put the duvet cover over that. This helped keep down on all the annoying feathers!
