my relatives just had twin boys and at the baptisim, they are giving them a quilt with a square from each family member with a inspirational quote or design on it. im running short on ideas so anyone want to share some with me?

Quilts from baby clothes??

I have 22 month old twin boys, and I would like to get them quilts made out of their baby clothes. I have looked at a few places online that does them, and the least expensive was $175. Does anyone know of anywhere cheaper? Why is it so expensive to make these? Someone mentioned that you need different types of sewing machines, but that means nothing to me as I know nothing about sewing.

It's only long-arm quilters who have the special machines for quilting (not for putting the pieces together). If you are looking for full-size quilts then that price is very reasonable, if you think about the number of hours taken, and how much per an hour a person needs to live on. You could also buy Quilter's Newsletter Magazine (monthly magazine) as there are pages of small ads by quilters looking for work in the back.
