Leopard Print Bedding - How to Make It Work In Your Home

Most of us don't put a whole lot of time or effort into picking out our bedding. You will go out and spend days if not weeks trying to pick out the perfect color for you walls. As a decorator I am here to give you some advice on this very subject. Your bed is the focal point of your room. It is what should stand out the most. Think of it as you would the pyramids. The sand and sky are simply there to accent how amazing the pyramids are. Your bedroom is the same way. The carpet and walls are there to accent your bedding.

The color of your walls is very important so don't think I'm saying that it's not. The first thing you should have picked out is your bedding. Leopard print bedding is coming back into style at a very rapid pace. Picking out bedding should be no small task. Don't just go to your local Bed Bath & Beyond and pick out a leopard print bedding bag that has everything already in it. This is what everyone else including your neighbors has. If you want to stand out from the pack and define your own self than its going to take a little more work than that.

The first piece you want to look for is going to be the comforter. Comforters come in so many different designs and colors that it can be overwhelming. This is the time that you don't want to panic but just keep it simple. Don't try to complicate something that doesn't need to be complicated. Going with blue and purple leopard print bedding is for your teenage kid to do. You want something classic and sophisticated. Tans, golds, grays and black and white are all very classic colors that help ease your mind and calm you. This is what your bedroom should do for you.

A lot of people like to get crazy with the decorative pillows. This is something you need to be careful with. 5 decorative pillows is the perfect number so that its not an eye sore but it also makes the bed look very welcoming and warm. Once you go more than five you are getting a little ridiculous.

When it comes to sheets the main thing to keep in mind is the thread count. The higher it is the better you will sleep. Also don't forget the skirt. The bed skirt is what completes the entire ensemble.

Once you have these items selected it will make picking out your wall colors a breeze. You simply need to match the wall colors to the colors on the bedding. Choose 2 to start with. You don't want to use the darkest colors on the bedding and you don't want to use the lightest. Use two that are closer to the middle. Now you can create a base color which will be the primary color of your walls and an accent color. This will be the color of one wall that will pull the entire theme for your leopard print bedding together.
