Does light or dark bedding make your bed look larger?

I have a queen sized bed and I really want a black bedding set but I'm afraid it will overpower my room. It's a good sized room so its not crowded in there.
If i get a dark comforter, will it make my bed look bigger and out of place?

Look at the colors in your room like carpet, other furniture, walls windows/draperies it might give you some ideas. You can get different pillows with patterns and designs and color to break up the solidness of the black. Put some pictures that has black and other colors you like to match with your bed like like a gold frame with black background and beautiful colored flowers. I hope this gives you some ideas.
